Two weeks prior to the Iedul Fitri festive day, employees in Indonesia are given their annual Tunjangan Hari Raya (THR). The term Tunjangan Hari Raya it self translates to Religious Festive Day Allowance. It is a compulsary allowance that must be given to employees working in either profit or non profit oriented companies, be it private or goverment held. Hence it is a custom for an employee to expect a minimum 13 times monthly salary per annum.

It has been two years since we started GLC Consulting, today our family has grown substantially. Thus to be great-full of our second anniversary also the move to our new office space, we held a small gathering, where our family had a pleasant time breaking 17th August' Ramadhan fast together.

Outing, Team Building and Having Fun

After positive results in Q1 and Q2 of this year and finalising moving office to a bigger permisis, management of GLC Consulting has decided to relax for a day and stage an outing and team building event to reward all of our team members.

It was a highly anticipated event, which was missed by two of our staff due to health issues, first Riris who had the flu all week and Fira who took an unfortunate slip over the stairs of her home early this morning, this required her to take treatment to her ankle.

Bigade 3234, located in Gunung Putri West Java, was chosen to be the venue which prooved to be satisfactory. After a fun yet exhausting event, we all then relaxed and had lunch at Panjang Djiwo Resort.

During the event a client called which required Tris to take immediate action, in submission of 2 candidates to the client and arranging interview schedules for both of them, these tasks were easily completed due to the support of our Recruitement CRM, webmail access and also very importantly the availability of mobile internet.

Facing next year, we at GLC Consulting have held our first ever annual meeting. Since our company was found in August 2008, we have grown substantially, where by during this year we have hired many talented resources.

Amongst them are Bayu Temadja, who is a professional with well-rounded experience in the recruitment space. Bayu's role prior to GLC Consulting was a Recruiter at Microsoft Indonesia, which has exposed him to end-to-end staffing management. The role with Microsoft has also made him very conversant with cutting-edge recruiting methods and tools.

Another consultant joining our team in this year is Riris Mailany, both a mother of an adorable little child named Naiyla and a professional who has in depth experiences in Human Resources, Sales and Account Management. Riris has a hunter's approach toward sales, her introduction into the company has made many usefull insights on how we should go about business development.

Search Optimizing Your Resume

Since 2005 I have been working with a number of recruitment systems, and all systems have a common method in screen resumes that apply for a certain position. Here at GLC Consulting is no exception, we have also implemented a recruitment system to aid us process resumes.

One method of candidate search is by means of job advertisements, here a recruitment agency will receive hundreds of resumes of candidates that are interested in applying for a vacant position. These hundreds of resumes cannot be read one at a time by a dedicated consultants. What a recruitment agency does is process all the resumes into a recruitment system, where the consultant will use the search function within the system. Through this system the consultant then short list a few candidates to finally interview

This means the first item your resume must satisfy is a recruitment system, yes, man against machine. How can this be done? Very much like Google a typical recruitment system will search for keywords within the many resume submitted.
